focus group & testing

Hardened chili in a stock pot , cookie sheet with corners burnt, and caked-on eggs on frying pan were used to test. While testing, we discovered that most people wanted to stay above surface level to avoid any surface contact with the food residue, especially if it was wet and oily. By staying higher above the flat surface, users were at disadvantage in gaining leverage to scrape hardened gunk, therefore took longer time and more energy to scrape. The lower, flat profile, and beveled the starting corner, it was proven to work more efficiently.

  • Double handle
  • Flexible head
  • Flat back to store it upright

PROTOTYPE

Rounds of prototypes were mocked up by blue and urethane foam to refine a comfortable grip for an average adult hand. Contour angle of body of dish brush is in line with motion of how the brush will use and parallel to wrist and forearm.

Good for getting into cups and circling around the parameter

Hugs the corners of pots to clean edges

Not good for plate and flat surface cleaning action-only a row or two makes contact.

Does not reach deep & steep areas as well

Good surface coverage—abundant bristles!

Food getting in stuck between bristle(very tight spacing)

Soap dispensing-feature accommodates well with lots of bristle to create more foam ?
